BREAKING: Real Edwards Supporter in Romantic Relationship spills beans on video

There has been a lot of talk recently about a supporter of John Edwards having a romantic relationship with him.  These reports have been pretty well debunked.  However, I have searched around, asking friends that that pay much more attention to these sort of stories that I do, and I finally found the key video.

In the video, a long time Edwards supporter who not only is in an amazing romantic relationship with with Sen. Edwards, but also, is reported to have given birth to children as a result of this relationship, spills the beans about this on a YouTube video.

Check it out: here!

Absolutely must see video!

What the hell is the point of this diary? So what, Elizabeth Edwards is married to John Edwards and had kids. Pointless diary, and you could troll rate me for that. I know you want to.

Re: BREAKING: Real Edwards Supporter in Romantic (1.50 / 2)

People like TarHeel would not be able to resist to troll rate me for a comment like that. But I still don't see the point of this diary, humor or not. It is pointless.

Something relevant to the diary:

Congratulations on their marriage.

Meta points (2.00 / 3)

Perhaps this reflects some of my philosophy of political messaging.

People love titillation and a good scandal.  It gets them to stop and look.  Instead of getting all defensive about some back page story in the National Enquirer, let's twist it around, have a little fun and at the same time get people to start focusing again on what is real and what really matter.

It reminds me of the old line about pulling down Hitler's pants at the beer hall, but I don't want to get off on a tangent, or 'Hitler' the conversation.

Re: What is your point, (none / 0)

My point was explicitly stated: it is a pointless diary that brings nothing to the conversation.

And what was the purpose of calling me a "jerk"? Does that give you a rise or something, to call every Clinton support you see or meet or disagree with a "jerk"? Does it help your ego?

Re: What is your point, (none / 0)

TomP, that comment is way out of line.  Disagree with the poster, but calling him a jerk?  You are usually pretty level headed, let's not get into such inflammatory language here -- and, YES, if I see any Clinton supporter point blank calling someone else a JERK or IDIOT or TOOL, I say the same thing.

Re: What is your point, (2.00 / 3)

Ah. So you only hold your fire when other Clinton supporters attack Elizabeth's sickness, "cover" for it by claiming that they actually just meant to accuse her of a mental illness (so much better!), and launch Coulteresque attacks on JRE's masculinity? Have to admit I'm a little puzzled by those priorities, George. And come to think of it, I sure wouldn't mind some documentary evidence of you actually calling another Clinton supporter on, well, pretty much anything. I'm just naturally inquisitive that way.

Re: What is your point, (none / 0)

That is utter BS.  I called areyouready out twice, asked him to shelve the Edwards' wife slams.  Nice of you to miss that, too.   I respect TomP, he is a credible poster who I think is genuine.  It is just that calling a fellow poster a name like jerk, idiot or tool is against the rules here, so if I catch it, I'll state so.  And you are dead wrong that I don't do so when it comes from Clinton supporters.

Of course, I don't expect a different post from you, McSnatherson.  Notice that I did not troll rate or zero rate for that remark, while you go around and troll rate without cause (which is against the rule,) even if someone just writes a very mild comment critical of your candidate.

Re: What is your point, (none / 0)

Documentary evidence means links, George. Because you're quite right - if you've done that, I did miss it (and I doubt I'm the only one), and I really don't much feel like wading through the muck of Hillaryland to try to dredge up examples myself.

Oh, and I trust you'll forgive me if I fail to trip over myself to congratulate you on not gratuitously trollrating me, given that you haven't shown such restraint in the past, an action you still have yet to offer an explanation for, despite my explicitly requesting such from you.

Also, at the first link I'd just like people to note how you spring to condemn areyouready saying precisely the things I made note of above... oh, wait. My bad. You're actually condemning one of the people (yours truly, to be precise) who actually did call him on it. Guess all the self-righteousness you've been pumping out on this issue confused me momentarily.

Re: What is your point, (none / 0)

Oh, and by the way, you are now resorting to shameless lies?

"So you only hold your fire when other Clinton supporters attack Elizabeth's sickness,

"cover" for it by claiming that they actually just meant to accuse her of a mental illness (so much better!),

You, sir, are a shameless liar.  I have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER claimed that anyone who attacked Elizabeth Edwards just meant to accuse her of a mental illness.   That is one shameless lie that you should be absolutely ashamed of uttering in a public forum.   What a small minded person would level such false, worthless attacks that are nothing but smears and lies.   I ask you to PROVE your assertion.  My posts are easily traced back.  And, they are identified by the diary they are posted in, so it should be VERY EASY for you to find the offending post.  Since I know for a fact that you won't be able to find a single post in WHICH I ACCUSED ELIZABETH EDWARDS of having a MENTAL ILLNESS you are herewith openly exposed as a shameless liar, and the proof is really on you to prove me wrong.   Have at it.

and launch Coulteresque attacks on JRE's masculinity?

Ah, now WHEN HAVE I DONE THAT?  There is not a single post you shall find in which I attack Edwards' masculinity.   NOT A SINGLE ONE.  Which makes you, McSnatherson, a liar again.   You are really running with this thing, aren't you?  Posters who know me (yes, even Edwards posters) know that that is not my style to go after EE's mental capacity or Edwards' masculinity.

Shameless stuff.  Did you REALLY think you would get away with this baseless, false smear?

Ever hear the expression "reading is fundamental"? Thanks for demonstrating why. If I was talking about you, I'd have used that pronoun - "you". But since I was still talking about other Clinton supporters, I used the pronoun appropriate for that - "they". Maybe you - by which I mean you, georgep, in case you were confused by that as well - should read a little more closely before jumping to conclusions about what people mean and launching personal attacks on them based on that in future.

The jerk started his comments by harassing the diarist. Where do you folks get off coming into someone's diary and criticizing the person for posting it. If you don't like the fricking diary don't read it. Seriously, some of you Hillary supporters are such arrogant jerks that the rest of us have just cause to be concerned with what type of nominee you support and where you want to take our party. You seem to think you have the right to live by double or triple standards from the rest of us. Take a frickin look in the mirror sometime. You support people that are rude and obnoxious when unprovoked.

what does that have to do with elizabeth? this is the same magazine that broke the Jennifer Flowers story back in 1992. (or the same organization holding the control of other magazines)

this could be huge, but I have a hard time believing it; but after Edwards' tradition of flip-flopping like Romney and Kerry, I am not sure.

Re: BREAKING: (2.00 / 2)

I am certainly not an Edwards' supporter but I thought this attempted smear against his marriage was despicable.  Arianna Huffington's Washington correspondent wrote two disgustingly suggestive diaries on huffingtonpost.com which only fed the rightwing hate machine.

I sometimes wonder where Arianna gets off calling herself a Democrat.  She smeared Al Gore, always trashes Hillary, and now she is facilitating smears against John Edwards.  We know she is a huge Obama supporter, as is her partner at huffpo, but this goes beyond the pale.

If I know anything about John and Elizabeth, it's that they are a strong and close couple, as well as a team.  Maybe the folks who started this smear campaign are jealous.

Recc'd!

Re: BREAKING: Real Edwards Supporter in Romantic (none / 0)

has anyone considered that Edwards planted this story? Think about it.When did Bill Clintons popularity soar? Right after the Genifer Flowers story hit. When did his approval ratings as president take off? After his abuse of an intern and rape of another woman were made public. It seems as if this could a great strategy to win over more Democratic voters.
If you are a Democrat candidate the further into the gutter you go the better chance you have of becoming an institution. Look at BArney and Teddy.
This may top AlGores global warming hoax for winning over the slugs who vote in Democrat primaries.
Hillary still has the upper hand cause she is married to the alltime scumbag. If things get close she can always plant the ole lesbian rumors of her and that midget Shalala and ogre Reno.
